The Deftpower team has big ideas for improving electric car charging. We draw on more than a decade’s worth of experience in the EV charging business and have just secured 2.5m euro funding from the European Union’s EIC Accelerator programme for energy start-ups to realise those ideas. With a team of 40 we are rapidly building Europe´s most advanced platform, recalibrating electric vehicle drivers, their cars, charging points and the grid in a sustainable eco-system. One in which everything is integrated, and anyone can join.

We believe that this market needs to grow quickly, and that with the right team, our clients and EV drivers can be happier, businesses more profitable, and society cleaner. As a result, we're on the lookout for new, geeky, funny, and brilliant team members to join us!

To help us in our mission we are looking for an English-speaking Key Account Manager for our office in Berlin.

About the job

As Key Account Manager you’re working right at the heart of our business with our closest clients across the energy, automotive, retail and infrastructure sectors. You draw on the team’s support to help build and strengthen relationships with clients and partners. Every client has their own unique strength, you need to help them find and activate that strength, coordinate projects to overcome obstacles to their success and drive their growth in the competitive EV charging market. We want to genuinely help usher in the era of emissions-free mobility and that means building and nurturing meaningful partnerships. Any obstacle you find in the way that mission, you remove.

You will work closely with the rest of the Sales, Operations and IT teams to help build an awesome product and ensure our clients achieve their goals. You’ll be part of an environment of trust, diversity, and inclusion within our team, with a common goal to improve our product and build out the company’s foundations. The tech is fascinating, you help shape it. If you have a better way of doing things, we want to hear it. Responsibilities include:

Relationship building

  1. Get to know the client, their position in the market, their strength and weaknesses

  2. Build trust by demonstrating expertise, helping them address any pain-points and identifying opportunities for growth

  3. Guide the client in their journey as an EV charging service provider

Project coordination

  1. Coordinate a diverse range of strategic projects across internal and external stakeholders from tech to marketing to help each client grow

  2. Organise and lead quarterly review meetings where you walk through the performance of the account and identify areas for improvement and growth

  3. Ensure the contract with the client is being fulfilled and the SLA is upheld

Conversion & Upselling

  1. Drive the conversion of a project’s potential to it’s realisation in the form of EV drivers actively using the charging solution

  2. Pitch new features to our Product Management Board where these are needed to achieve your mission and help shape our product in a concrete way

  3. Identify where the client could make use of optional services Deftpower offers, improving both the profitability of an account as well as client satisfaction

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate that feels the need to improve the life of our customers and has the persuasion skills and grit to go deep.

  • Somebody that is bold, goal oriented, a good relationship builder and get´s things done.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Proven track record in B2B key account management, preferably in a non-commoditised SaaS environment.

  • Knowledge of the electric vehicle charging industry and associated technologies is a bonus.

  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Familiarity with CRM tools and sales management platforms.

  • German and/or French language skills are a bonus.

  • You reside near Berlin or live in the EU and are prepared to move to Berlin. This is not a remote position.
