About the team
You will work within our Business Development domain, directly reporting to our CEO. While Business Development focuses on partnerships and commercial growth, this role focuses on the structural environment in which we operate.
At Deftpower we believe in long term thinking. We don’t just adapt to regulation. We help shape it. Our ambition in flexibility and Virtual Power Plant services requires active involvement in European and national policy discussions.
You will work closely with Product, Commercial and leadership teams to make sure regulation supports innovation instead of blocking it.

Salary range: between €60.000,- and €80.000 on an annual basis

About the job
As Public Affairs & Regulation Manager, you don’t just follow the rules of the market. You help shape them. While others focus on closing deals within the existing framework, you work on the framework itself. You make sure regulation supports smart charging, flexibility and Virtual Power Plant services instead of slowing them down.
You translate policy into strategy. You spot risks before they become problems. And you make sure Deftpower has a seat at the table where decisions are made.
Monitor EU and national regulatory developments and translate them into clear business impact.
Represent Deftpower in associations, working groups and public consultations.
Develop position papers and policy proposals that strengthen our market position.
Build relationships with regulators, ministries, EU institutions and system operators.
Align Product and Commercial teams on regulatory implications and strategic choices.

About you
This role is for someone who understands that regulation shapes markets. You enjoy working at the intersection of policy, energy systems and digital innovation.
You have experience in regulatory affairs, public affairs or energy policy. Ideally within energy, mobility or digital infrastructure.
You have strong knowledge of EU and national energy market regulation. You understand how policy decisions affect flexibility markets, data access, interoperability and market participation.
You can translate complex legal or regulatory texts into clear business implications.
You are comfortable operating in political and institutional environments and representing an organisation in structured discussions.
You communicate clearly in English. German or Dutch is a plus.
