App Developer (React Native) - eMobility (SaaS)

At Deftpower we’re looking for a React Native Developer who wants to build the app EV drivers use every day!

Full-time · Arnhem

About Deftpower

At Deftpower, we’re shaping the future of electric charging every single day. Our SaaS-platform helps businesses across Europe make charging simpler, smarter, and more sustainable. With AI and intelligent software, we make sure charging works seamlessly with the energy grid, creating a greener and more stable system for everyone.

We’re growing fast, thanks to a recent major investment, and there’s never a dull moment! We’re expanding, improving our technology and teaming up with companies in over ten countries.

About the team

You join the App team, where the team builds in React Native. The app is the part EV drivers actually hold in their hands: finding a charger, starting a session, following it live and seeing what it cost. You’ll work closely with Linda, our PO, and Jason, our App Team Lead.

We work in cycles using Shape Up, which we call Heartbeat. Each cycle, small cross-team squads form around a shaped project with a fixed appetite, for example an app developer, a backend developer and a designer working on a feature end to end. The squad decides how to solve the problem and ships it within the cycle, so you’re not waiting on handovers between teams.

Our Tech Stack

The app is written in React Native with some native modules written in Swift & Kotlin. Our backend is built in C#/.NET. We are heavily using Azure Functions to keep our platform as scalable as possible. We adopt a microservice architecture where services communicate with each other mainly via the Azure Service Bus. We also have a web portal that is written in Angular.

“Everyone is driven to make customers happy, we don't just work for the sake of working.”

- Florian, Team Lead

About the job

As React Native Developer you build and improve the features that make charging easy for drivers, from first idea to the app stores.

  • Build and maintain features across the charging journey, like finding chargers, starting and stopping sessions, live session status, payments and smart charging preferences

  • Work in a cross-team squad each cycle, shaping solutions together with backend developers, Product and Design

  • Integrate with our backend APIs and help define what the app needs from them

  • Keep the app fast, stable and well tested, and contribute to smooth releases on iOS and Android in a multi tenant environment

  • Work alongside native specialists when features touch Live Activities, Apple CarPlay or Android Auto

  • Share knowledge, review code and help raise the bar for the whole App team
