About the team
You join the commercial side of Deftpower where Business Development, Sales, Product and Operations work closely together to accelerate the adoption of smart charging across Europe. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, regulation and commercial growth. You work directly with our CEO and collaborate with teams across the company, while also engaging key players in the European energy ecosystem such as regulators, utilities, grid operators and policy bodies. As we grow, this specialised position ensures we influence the regulatory environment that defines what is possible in smart charging and energy flexibility.

Salary range: between €60.000,- and €90.000 on an annual basis

About the job
As Senior Business Development Manager for Regulation & Public Affairs, you turn regulatory complexity into strategic opportunity. You represent Deftpower in industry groups, build relationships with policymakers and guide our roadmap by anticipating regulatory change. You scan the European landscape for barriers and opportunities, translate them into actionable plans and support our teams in shaping products and partnerships that can scale.
This is a role for someone who enjoys navigating policy, energy markets and commercial strategy at the same time. You bring a strong narrative, a collaborative mindset and the ability to communicate with confidence across both technical and senior stakeholder environments.
Identify and prioritise regulatory trends that affect smart charging and flexibility services
Translate insights into recommendations, business plans and measurable OKRs
Represent Deftpower in associations, lobby groups and regulatory working groups
Build strong relationships with governments, regulators, utilities and grid operators
Position Deftpower’s value propositions in policy and public affairs discussions
Support commercial teams with market intelligence, partner engagement and regulatory alignment
Ensure regulatory developments strengthen long term commercial growth

About you
You thrive where policy, technology and commercial strategy meet. You enjoy translating complexity into clarity and you know how to build trust with senior external stakeholders. You succeed in this role when you combine sharp analytical skills with strong communication, relationship building and a deep interest in how Europe’s energy landscape evolves.
5+ years experience in regulatory affairs, public affairs, energy markets, policy advisory or a related strategic field
Ability to understand regulations and translate them into actionable impact for teams and products
Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence engaging with senior policy, regulatory and industry leaders
Experience creating clear narratives, business cases or strategic recommendations
A structured thinker with curiosity and the ability to navigate complex topics
